    /\/\. Aha

    Very well put

Until I moved away and attending regularly became not possible I didn’t even think about not going to watch the City no matter how the game was being played or who the manager was at the time or his the results were going

It’s in my bones and will be there until I turn up my toes

I’ve always supported the City and will continue to do so whichever division they are in next year or the year after or the one after that

And I to enjoy reading TLGs posts 👍

Never tried, always skimmed over it-Even if you do remove it, chances are that whatever it was stuck to will be messy and in need of attention-just skim over it-it's easy enough-give me a shout mate-anytime

as a side note, some artex used t have asbestos mixed in it so depending on the age, be carefull with any scraping / sanding

On the highlights I saw it looked packed. Perhaps you were looking at the neutral zone area next to it. One of us could ring Brentford but the main Brentford website clearly states that their allocation was 4073 and they had sold 2500 on April 12th, two days before the match, so 3000 by the Saturday is not unreasonable. Unless 2200 of them decided not to turn up on the day of course !!.

No idea, I just remember looking at the t.v. when they showed the fans and it didn't look like that many

Indeed, just mentioning the possibility that Tan and the rebrand has had a long term effect on attendances is greeted by the scientific response "you must be a Jack 'en"

I can only speak for myself, during the red bollox I grew tired of the inter-fan bickering and the largely unchallenged acceptance of the situation, it was at this point I realised I was just "a customer" and "if I didnt like it I could be replaced", well I didn't like it, I didn't like the match day experience, I didn't like a lot of the fans and I stopped posting on here with any regularity. At this point I also stopped attending with any regularity, I am no longer a season ticket holder but I do attend when I feel like it, as a means of entertainment and a day out with my daughter, this is maybe 5-6 games a season, at one point I attended every home game and 80% of away games, I wasn't there last night, feel free to vilify me for that
No, people like you do not exist. You are obviously a Jack trying to make Tan look bad

For a promotion game? 26,000 as in recent years.

What with being 6 point away form the worlds richest league and having broken the stadium record for a Cardiff City match both in the league and cup in recent months, it's really great that there is at least one voice of reason on here, you should be very proud of yourself. You don't sound like a complete knob at all.

After all you probably only do it, selflessly, out of your honourable deep concerns for the way the club is heading and to try and save us foolish enough to give our continued support from the disastrous long term effects of VT's reign..

I think it's difficult for us sellout fans to see past the success sometimes and realise how much better it would be, even if we had to battle in the lower leagues for sometime and await, maybe forever, a local hero benefactor such as what Swansea once had.. At least we'd have the truly passionate and principled people such as yourself at the ground week in, week out... We really seem to be going to hell in a handbasket right now, I mean, we'd be doing so much better right now without the likes of VT, right?

    Or maybe your'e just a c unt..?
Lower crowds and substantial debt. The absence, despite his many promises, of a debt free club in Cardiff. These are the long term time bombs ticking away at CCS, and no amount of name calling disguises that.

We pulled down a ceiling plastered in artex, only later did I realise that artex contained asbestos. Luckily, my original plan was to sand it, but something happened and we ended up pulling the thing down. Not ideal.

Recent years? You mean the one year we got promoted to the Premier League? 2013? Because the last time we got promoted before that our biggest crowd was 15,000. The time before that we got 12,000 in our "promotion game".

So now we're back down to earth, let's say we get promoted at home to Reading. What's it going to take to spare your outrage?

    Re: Crowds

Think the style of play under Slade in particular had a lot to do with crowds dropping - we played dull, long ball football, but made the mistake of playing like that while not winning often enough. Because this team wins most times, the same style of football is tolerated more now, but, even so, our gates are not as high as you would expect for a team in our position - I don't think it can be proven one way or the other, but my view is that any hangover from the rebrand is less responsible for the lower than expected gates than the style of play we see from City.

A sad groupie. You conveniently ignored the points I made earlier. It was the likes of you and your 'friends' that ruined this club for years.

Have you the photo of you and your West Ham bestie over your bed? Clown.

You have a very selective memory. The Forest game in 2013 was a 3pm kick off and had a full contingent of away fans in the ground. By contrast, the game on the weekend was a night match, live on sky and the away end was barely a quarter full, all factors that would have significantly reduced the attendance.

We were also a lot closer to winning promotion by the time we faced Forest in 2013, with only a win and a draw required from our remaining fixtures. Our previous match drew a crowd of just 22,500, some way short of your magic "26000" figure.

Nobody is trying to deny that our attendances are down; we have far less season ticket holders these days due to a variety of reasons, the rebrand being one of them. But if you continue to cherry pick statistics to suit your argument you will continue to undermine what little credibility you have left on here.

What stats am I cherry picking? TLG posted two crowds for the penultimate home game if a season where Cardiff were promotion bound. Both were around 26000, and having just had 29000 against Wolves, an expectation of 26000 is not fanciful is it?

I am under no illusions about my "credibility" on here, but facts are facts. Crowds are shit, and I have seen people here blame everything except Tan. Now that is being selective!

    Re: Crowds

As has been said what seems a million times, there are many reasons why crowds will be different from past games.
The previous poster is right, you are being selective. Facts they may be but like statistics, they may be portrayed in various ways to suit the publisher's agenda.

You do seem to have some allies on here, smart ones too, and may well agree to negative posts. Some may have agendas anti our owner and some may be posting for genuine reasons for discussion and debate.
What is clear though is that you rarely post any 'facts' in a positive light for the City and endeavour to provoke reaction and put a downer on things.

You have gone on the defensive with the 'credibility' statement and there are people who have resorted to a bit of name calling recently (hand up calling you a jack) but is it any wonder?

If you want people's perception of you to change then try and add some balance.

Hardly being defensive, which part of the crowds OP was infactual? How can I make 15000 against Ipswich positive?

It may come as a surprise, but I couldn't care less what people think of me. That is because few of you debate me, and most of you insult me as a get out..
    So what?
The figures speak for themselves, it's concerning because the club loses parachute payments next season and, in the unlikely event of you being a Championship club next season, you will be supporting a club haemorrhaging money, with a significantly lower turn over and a dus interested fan base (for many reasons).

However, the blues are finally going up and, as with everything, the Premier League will solve all these issues.

  25. #200

    Re: Crowds

We have a excellent fan base. ST sales are up for next season all behind the club and team. Record crowds this season.

Even if we fall short its been what supporting a club is all about.

12th man on Saturday. Didnt play well but no moans or getting on the players back.

BIS is selective. More home fans for Saturday at 745 on Sky than v West Ham in the play offs pre rebrand.

    29000 plus v Wolves. A record crowd.
