This letter given to a gentleman by the Home Office. He arrived from Jamaica in 1964 aged 6 and despite having a National Insurance card from 1974 & NHS documentation from 1964 they still want to deport him.

i think these cases are awful sad , I truly do, but millions have been given a second chance and plucked from poverty and near death ,and that should also be recognised and applauded.

A National Insurance number (or an equivalent in other countries) doesn't equate to citizenship , of course. If it did, I would have access to working in Europe when the shutters come down. Instead I am scratching around to find out if my mother's natural parents (she was adopted) were citizens of what are now EU countries.
