Thread: A poor night defensively..........

    A poor night defensively..........

And it was coming-lets not fool ourselves, we are in the position we are in because of our defending, can't be to critical-apart from Wildschut-What the **** was he thinking? So, i'm not going to be too harsh on them, they're in credit. The biggest issue tonight was ball retention, taking the sting out of the game, if the midfield were more composed and had the ability to keep the ****ing ball for longer than two seconds, then maybe we wouldn't invite mistakes. This has been coming.

Grujic has to come into midfield.

Absolutely, just has a presence none of the others have. Derby just ran through at will, Ralls and Gunnar looked tired in the end. Ultimately defensive mistakes cost us, all very avoidable but we had nothing going forward second half as we could barely touch the ball in their half.

The biggest issue all season, despite results, has been “ball retention” followed by pass rate.

Stupid defensive mistakes. The one strength we have had all season.

2 wins needed, I'm not as confident as I was a couple of hours ago.

If Forest were any better, they'd have left Cardiff with the points on Saturday. People keep saying that "tippy tappy football is not needed" but if your team can only string 2 passes together before losing possession, then you're opening yourselves up to getting your goal peppered, just as Derby did for the entire second half.

Four passes was the most managed by Cardiff until the 94th minute. And that was for the goal. Five was the most against Forest on Saturday. Percentage football at its very worst.

Agree, he does have some composure. That was a ****ing hiding, so much wrong with that display.

Forest opened us up on three or four occasions. I can't believe it's still in our own hands, because we are shocking for long periods of a game. We've relied on our defence for the last three months, tonight, they have a bad night, Jerome pulled them all over the shop in the second half. We can't keep the ball, simple as that, nobody wants it, slow in possession and punished for it tonight.

It's really odd how he's been frozen out of the side all of a sudden..

Agree-but that's what we do. Not tonight though, got slapped all over the park in the second half when derby decided to push an extra man into midfield and move the ball quicker. Hopefully, Hull and Reading were not watching and they wont try any of that nonsense!

Yup, He wasn't great, but he is the most composed midfield player we have, and he's got a bit of a brain-not sure he'd have made difference tonight though.
