Can you imagine that happening with 1,500 of our fans there?

The game was over, but I am sure that was the loudest cheer on the night.

I thought it was a Saturday afternoon?

It was indeed the loudest cheer of the day though.
I loved the way we stuck by him even although he wasn't up to the mark, showed watching football wasnt all about winning or being brilliant at the game .

I remember it as an evening game, but I could be wrong. Anyway, it was the loudest cheer of the day - despite his short comings Johnson put in a lot of effort and I think the fans at the time just wanted him to succeed.

I reckon Eddie has great memories of his time at Cardiff, hopefully he has lots of good stories to tell his kids and grandkids about his time at Cardiff.

What was surprising was the fact he wasn't good enough for Cardiff, but the vast majority wanted him to do well.
Better players have had less patience shown by the Cardiff faithful.

He scored against Derby in an evening game. Scored twice actually, one of which was an own goal.

Thats because he was so bad it was actually

Maybe that's the one I am thinking of. I also thought it was a scrappy goal compared to the one in the video.

In fairness, he kept plugging away. I remember being shocked at his signing, I think I was in Singapore at the time and I remembered he had done sod all at Fulham. I think I was annoyed because he was on a fair wage but I softened my stance as it went on. I don't know if it was pity, gallows humour but I think it was his effort that partly won me over.

We missed out on the play offs that year by one goal.
    Eddie's own goal?

You can hear the crowd in this version, genuine joy that he'd got his goal.

Ironically, yes! Never thought of it in those terms before!

There was another unusual scorer for Cardiff in that Derby thrashing - Gavin Rae!

Yup, even if Preston battered us 5-0 or 6-1 instead it would've been enough for us.

    Typical City eh?

I believe we missed a penalty in that PNE thrashing didnt we? If that went in, we would have been in there. Fine lines!
