If he was playing, sure.
As a manager, the analogy fails because he's never managed anywhere before. He may be an utter disaster at it.

Like fitting 21” alloys to a wheelie bin?

His ego has taken over any common sense he 'might' have had.
I heard someone in the media as world renowned.
He was a class act but 'world renowned?' Never
It might be a decent move for Gerard. A good learning experience. With relatively little at stake. Can't see what Rangers are expecting out of it.
If he doesn't turn it around quickly, he won't last and his managerial career will be over.
When does he take over? End of the season?
If so Rangers may as well finish 4th without the distraction of Europe next season.
Quote from a Celtic fan I know -
According to the news Gerrard has been confirmed. He was also baptised and made his first holy communion.
The second best team? I don't think so.
Comparing to Wenger if finishing second? Haha.
Rangers don't give second chances to managers who get stuffed by Celtic. Klopp will be giving plenty of second string players to gain game time up there .
This is about getting fans off their back. Everyone knows Rangers are skint. With the exception of Mr. Gerrard.
I can't wait to hear his excuses next season. Watch out for Grujic
