Wales could play more Principality Stadium games, says Giggs

    F.O. GIGGS

    GIGGS OUT!!

I have had all along a feeling this man's appointment as the Wales manager will end up in tears.

Will run around Caerphilly Mountain naked, if we reach either the Euros or World Cup under him!!

Surely if Rugby can fill the Principality Stadium for Friendlies, Football should fill it for possible World Champions Spain?

So wanting to play in a bigger better stadium (still in the Capital) where Welsh football fans have the chance to put their money where there mouths are, and prove they can equal the egg crowds, and atmosphere, you equate that Giggs will fail as Welsh manager.?
You have a very strange train of thought!

Over the last 10 Wales friendlies they sold out just once, against the All Blacks & averaged 62,500. It's a myth that friendlies sell out.

62,500 is still going some for friendlies!!

They aren't friendlies in rugby, they are Test matches (like cricket).

Have you all seen the state of the “pitch”

Re: Wales could play more Principality Stadium games, says Giggs

And playing in there is putting money in the WRU’s pockets

    ^this.

They don't play friendlies in Rugby (unless its a world cup year, in which case they may play one or two in the summer). Instead, they play 'Test' matches, which have some degree of importance attached to them and draw massive crowds not just in this country but all over the UK and across the world. If you are a Rugby fan, these are the matches you circle in your diary.

They are NOT to be compared with friendlies in football, which are meaningless and generally attract small to middling crowds not just in this country, but all over the UK and around the world. If you are a football fan, you walk around in circles cursing their very existence.

    Everyone clear? Good. Carry on.

Remember Bellamy having an argument with the ground staff there because they weren't allowed to warm down.

Remember how much each game at the Millennium costs the FAW

Remember the tight, electric atmosphere at CCS for the qualifiers

Remember the God-awful atmosphere at the Millennium Stadium - even when it was full.

The Millennium stadium is an events venue. It is not suitable for Wales, and it almost feels like a neutral venue.

The Italy game is one of the best I've been to for atmosphere it's the fans inside that make it

The pitch varies in terms of ‘give’ and can be dreadful in places
    Plus
There are a lot of events at the Stadium so fitting in wales football on a regular basis might be logistically challenging

    Not a good idea imo

It's a rugby stadium, full stop. Wales are more often than not the underdogs, and a tight, close-to-the-pitch stadium suits us. I'd prefer the Liberty over the Principality.

Results-wise the stadium was a disaster compared to the CCS. It's Premiership, Cheshire Giggs all over..

Tan and Choo should get tough with welsh fa , ask them for their intentions , if it’s to line the pockets of the egg, tell them to do one.

The best atmosphere I've witnessed at the mill stad was Bradford vs Leeds rugby league challenge cup final, incredible atmosphere that day.

I guess my train of thought comes from the fact that Giggs is one of my least favourite players of all time to be honest

Sh1t venue, sh1t atmosphere (apart from Italy)

Someone else can have my tickets.

FAW will either be paying CCFC or WRU. Take your pick.

atmosphere at the belgium game was superb. would lose a lot of that in the Mil.Stad. also only takes one or two bad results and your playing in front of a half empty stadium

Is that the fault of a big stadium, or the glory hunting fans we have?
