Completely agree with that.
Exactly. Pre-season is about fitness - there's no point in travelling to play shit teams in the Far East when there are plenty in the Near South West.
I once stayed at a hotel in Asia where a Championship team were staying for their Asia pre-season tour. The poor players could not have looked more bored. Seems a bit harsh really, making them spend a week or so together, away from their families, during pre-season. I had a chat to one of the players who said words to that effect (he then realised that I was paying to be at the same hotel so he quickly backtracked and said it was a nice place, they were having a nice time etc). That side did pretty poorly the following season.
So let's hope our players aren't asked to do something like that and actually get the chance to spend the summers with their families.
All in all Cornwall seems to have suited us well this season.
