Yes I agree that the scripts were lacking. They we're very topical though and did turn the programmes round pretty quickly.

"Have I got news for you" seems to have filled the political satire hole left by Spitting Image but imagine getting that comedy recipe and production team involved with the Spitting Image crew. Dynamite!
