I think there are lots of people who are cannon fodder for this type of campaign (Im probably one of them)
You keep telling us you were swaying, but I remember your posts before the referendum and they were pretty much 100% in favour of leaving.

If the EU had made reforms re migration controls, no more new member states, no more expansionism (if that is a word) - then I would be a definite remainer. The problem being there was no status quo option. We were in the EU and it's moving in a direction that I dont want to be part of. So didnt want remain for those reasons, and didnt want Leave for the reasons that are currently being played out.

Add on top of that we have an EU commission that can never be voted out or in.

As it stands though - we voted leave, we are leaving, so we need to make the most of it. There are benefits (albeit distant ones) and a load red tape that eurocrats just love. Cameron should never have held it in the first place, although I think it would have happened at some stage. Most of Parliament is remain - ironically apart from Corbyn / McDonnell & Co who are closet outers.

    What about yourself ?
Your posts never gave any positives about remaining. And that's fine, I'm not critical of that as I like to see the points of view that I haven't thought of. But don't pretend you were 50-50.

I voted remain and would do so again without hesitation. I cannot possibly see how the UK will be even a penny better off. It doesn't mean I think the EU is great, but the alternative is vastly worse. I also think that people don't realise that we had a sweet deal in the EU, as most of the things that were passed were things we wanted and we didn't have to join in with the shitty stuff like Schengen and the Euro.

Strong words from Airbus about the government's incompetence.

How can you put a price on freedom?

What are the first bits of European tyranny you are looking forward to shaking off when you are free?

Most UK citizens have no memory of life outside the EU as the average age is around 40. That the majority who turned out to vote chose Leave was a surprise to me as people tend to dislike change and prefer routine instead.

It's ironic that by the time we exit the EU the combination of the age demographic (Brexit voters dying off quicker than Remain voters and younger/new voters being more pro-EU) and those who regret their vote may mean that the population predominantly consists of Remainers.

Most people alive today would be against many historical events. Unfortunately we can't zoom forward in time to vote on things.

Do you remember when the Tory Brexit crew all fell on their swords during the May leadership farce? History is a wonderful thing, it's all turning out just like I said it would.

I agree using flawed iogic is ironic and very very depressing.

BTW how's the Trump Russia Collusion story going? You've been very quiet on this subject lately, well since the time your favourite media titles stopped talking about it

The Tory brexit crew are still alive and kicking.

You said we would stay a member of the EU. Still seems unlikely to me.

I said I couldn't see us leaving the EU with those plotters in charge. I certainly remember the day after the surprise Brexit victory, when Gove and Boris disappeared without uttering a single word. It seemed odd at the time, but it made perfect sense after witnessing the shambles of a leadership contest.

Maybe only under 18's should be allowed to vote since all policies affect them the longest?

Only a handful of far right politicians and their followers suggest things will be better by leaving the EU. Virtually every educated opinion on the matter thinks the opposite. I know who I prefer to believe.

Well obviously not the experts because people are tired of listening to the experts.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but there is no globalist new world order without America. The US, Japan, China, Russia, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc., have already scooted. The EU is now an expensive pipedream that won't be able to pay its bills, now that it's plans for an expansionist socialist uptopia are over. If only Hillary had won hey ...

Are these the same experts who convinced you about the Trump Russia Collusion?

So no answer to my post, then. That's fine.

You'd be better off thinking in terms of globalist and anti-globalist, and forgetting about left v right and red v blue.

Asked why Macedonia wanted to join the EU at the time of UK departure, the foreign minister for Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov suggests "perhaps those inside forget how cold it is outside".
