Totally going in a different direction, but who remembers the monkey outside the fishing net shop at Roath Park ?

(Not totally off, as we used to ride our bikes up there, with false motors on )

Catapults, gobstoppers and sweet chewing tobacco. Licorice pipes, planes made from polystyrene ceiling tiles, verrucas and impetigo. Those were the days.

Pea shooters, making your own kite and flying it, making tree dens in the woods, making bows & arrows, playing splits with a penknife on the lawn, bird nesting.

I remember 'splits' but what about 'chicken'. You started with the legs spread open and brought them in to where the knife stuck in. What the f*ck were we doing with knives anyway at about 8 years of age??? Wouldn't have dreamt of stabbing anyone though.
