Bit of a kick in the teeth for Joe Bennett, maybe some incentive for him to consider the Fulham move now.

IMO we a right back was the priority.

Maybe, just maybe we are looking for a right back to and this transfer just happened to get done first. I don’t think transfers happen in order of priority just when they get done they get done.

Cardiff City are believed to paid a fee of around £3.5m for Preston left back Greg Cunningham. The 27 year old has signed a three year deal at CCS

"It's fair to say that I've been an admirer of Greg for a number of years and that he's consistently been one of the best left-sided defenders for club and country," Cardiff manager Neil Warnock told the club's website.

"We're delighted to have his experience and knowledge so as to supplement Joe Bennett who had a great time last season.

"I anticipate that Greg coming in will give us a lot of strength down that left-hand side."

Cunningham, who is a Republic of Ireland international, made 21 appearances for Preston last season.
