Thread: Analysts

    Analysts

These are people we have to listen to during each game. There was a comment during the Morocco v Iran game that cracked me up. Brian Kerr ..... "Iran need a kick up the hole for some urgency"!

RTÉ pretty much give analysts a free rein on opinions. Graham Souness was quoted as saying he couldn't believe you were allowed to give your opinion freely.

I'm going to dig deeper for my favourites. Have you any particular favourites?

Fair play, he's on target there - and pulls no punches. I wonder if Irish TV has a bit more freedom to criticise. Sky has sterilised football punditry. Chris Waddle had a minor rant a few years ago on radio, they moved him to the TV studio and he was as tame as a kitten. Back on the radio now.

It's always been that way on RTÉ.
There are hundreds of examples out there.
Johnny Giles and Dunphy worked well together.
I'm no Souness fan but he was always pretty good. I guess anyone would when you have freedom to say what you like.

    Warnock would be excellent. ;)
