Punished correctly under the correct rule. John Daly did the same years ago, received same penalty.

End of the day, way out of contention anyway, pissed off with the USGA fvcking things up with ridiculous pin placements, causing good putts to end up flying off the greens... 2 shot penalty was enough.

Under Rule1-2 he deliberately aimed to gain an advantage by preventing his ball from rolling off the green Verdict under this Rule is disqualification
IMO the USGA didn’t apply this rule because of the way all the players struggled with the horrendous set up of the course. By applying Rule 1-2 the USGA were trying to avoid further embarrassment
