The "Soccer" as these heathens insist on calling it down here is absolute tripe. Andy Keogh has been Perth's marque player for a few years, Ros McCormack has been a superstar on loan from Villa. The A league (top division) is only 10 teams & not 1 of them would survive a season in the Championship. In 5 years here Mandi & I have only bothered to go to 1 match, only watched a handful on TV.
They try to keep it so vast majority of players are Australian, but don't allow teams to have enough foreign stars to help lift the game to a respectable level. Along with playing the other 9 teams 4 times it makes it very stale & not very good. Major work is required for the game to move forward & challenge AFL & egg league here.
