Yet he’s identified ‘Robert Huth’ as a new signing.

A guy who’s at the end of his career looking for one last big pay deal.

    Looks like he hasn’t learnt.

All this whilst Villa have (apparently) a superb academy producing loads of very promising youngsters

Good their fans deserve a good few years down in the championship

A club spends one season out of the premiership and they are broke.

I'm delighted for them, horrible bunch.

We seem to be doing things properly.

I understand that they have been defering / partially paying wages since January and had in excess of £20M in bonuses lined up if they had been promoted. Seems that they were gambling the present on the future & it's backfired.

They've paid McCormack & Agbonlahor around £3.5M each in the last 18 months & they've barely kicked a ball for the club

It's difficult to have any sympathy for Villa as they brought it on themselves. I can understand, in the first season after relegation from the PL, to have a go to get back up but financial cutbabacks have to be made thereafter due to FFP. They didn't. To spend some £88m ( I read in the last 2 yrs) and pay Terry £100,000/wk (last season) was ridiculous. The chicks always come home to roost.

Villa - Quietest ground I've ever been to. WBA best supporters in the midlands.

Hard to sympathise. We made mistakes the the EPL with Malky but for a few seasons we have been realistic and pragmatic, financially.

But what villa have done is just crazy. John Terry 100k ... Shocking.
