I honestly thought we might lose him this year. Nice to have a lot of stability at the club.

When he signed for us my Aston Villa mate (don't hold that against me) said Bennett was the best left back they had. Glad he's signed for 3 yrs.

A lot of new contracts being signed.

I wonder if this is part of our sustainable future plan in that players are handsomely rewarded for staying the in PL but take a big hit if we go down.

I'd love it if that were the case, a good way of incensing players, and retaining a strong squad at an affordable cost should we end up going back down.

I also quite like the fact we have an almost completely fluent English speaking squad (back off Brussels!) It always strikes me as a nightmare they way some clubs have to employ multiple interpreters. It can't be great for tactical communication and handing out bol11ockings either!

Are we turning into a real football club, who are now planning for the future .

Thank you Neil ,kevin and Ronny for showing a naive club the right direction. .

I like Joe but wasn't he shipped out of Villa because he couldn't cut it in the Premier League?

Dismissing the possibility a player can improve. 👍

Great news as Joe Bennett signs new contract

City's squad gets more settled as another player signs an extended contract

Joe Bennett has followed Neil Etheridge and Junior Hoilett in signing a new contract until 2021.

Neil Warnock is settling his squad, getting transfer business done early and securing the services of trusted reliable players ahead of the new Premier League season.

Talking about his new deal Bennett said: “I’m really happy. It got sorted out very quickly, so now I can just concentrate on my football and hopefully having a good season.

“I think we’ve got a good squad and the Manager has signed some good, young and hungry players. There is no pressure on us really and we can just go out and enjoy it."

Cardiff open their pre-season campaign at Taff's Well on Friday July 13th.
