Out of all the sports, tennis has probably done the most to help the profile of the women's game.
I'm not a fan of tennis, and I could probably name as many woman players as male ones.
Also the women's games are no less interesting even though you know that a professional guy in the competition would probably win comfortably.
I think that is largely because the big events are held for men and women at the same time.
Sports get a huge increase in coverage during the biggest events and the women's game has benefited from this.

Perhaps they should hold the mens and womens world cups at the same time, I think this would raise the profile of the women's game, and give nations another chance of winning something. It would also give the teams of journalists camped out in Russia something else to write about

    I went to Wimbledon once.
    Tickets for No1 court
    Sat behind the service end
I’ll never forget the smell of Sharapova when she was serving
