That'll be the one Wales feckin qualify for

FIFA's new regime could have pulled off a PR masterstroke by taking that World Cup away from Qatar, now they look just as corrupt as the old guard

Qatar would launch a massive law suit against FIFA if they lost the WC at this stage. FIFA should have moved the WC as soon as the corruption was exposed.

    It's a tough one, a political tinderbox.
Infantino would be a brave man to call foul.

As for the dates it is being played, it is the only solution possible.
Apart from players' health competing on the pitch, supporters' at stake too just mulling around.

Will stuff the domestic season and European cups up big time.

Can't we just do away with International football altogether?

    Re: FIFA have announced ....

Imagine they will move about 3 seasons around to accommodate it, shifting dates before and after.

Would be fun if the leagues continued and see the dramatic changes to results.

Maybe this will finally be the catalyst for the league cup getting put in the bin ? Personally looking forward to this massively, a nice change. Don't care if it's in Qatar.

Nice time for a winter break in the sun, watching the World Cup, Tenerife/Lanzarote etc. Watch the prices fly up though, no doubt!

I thought the bid they won was based on it being held in the summer How did they win if there was no way it could be held in June and July .......

If I had to watch the ROI international team every time they played I'd be asking that too.

Perhaps the League Cup could be for EFL clubs.

I wouldn't be adverse to EPL teams not playing in the League Cup any more. It's treated as the ginger haired step child up until the quarter finals anyway. May even bring a little prestige back to the FA Cup if that is the only knock out tournament to play for for the big teams.

Does English football continue with its plan for a winter break? Although I understand the break will start in February so no real difference and it may be other leagues who are more impacted.

I've said this for a while. I think they'd be surprised how much it would invigorate the competition.
