Thread: Geraint Thomas

    Re: Geraint Thomas

Another great ride from Thomas today, he's now confirmed that he will be Sky's lead rider as he gained 50 seconds on Froome today and is now 1.59 minutes ahead of second place

It will be interesting to see how sky ride the next mountain stage, sir Geraint is by no means a bad time trialer so you have gotta think they will be happy to hold their advantage now. Maybe froome given freedom to have a go whenever whilst the rest of the team work for Thomas.

Current second place rider is current champion time trialer, isn't he? Still one stage at a time.

He's odds on now and Dumoulin who is second is 10/1.
Tomorrow he should be fine but he has one more tough day in the mountains on Friday then the time trial on Saturday. If he comes through the next two days unscathed he should be fine.

Yeah but 2 minutes is a long time. If they keep this gap it looks tough for Dumoulin, GT won a shorter time trial last year beating specialists like Kung and Martin.

Class day today for him, Froome just couldn't keep up. He was 6/1 a few days ago now 1/9. Froomes gone from like 10/11 to 16/1.

Thomas became the main man today. Having Froome as a domestique will help enormously.

Okay so if does well in the hills his weakest skill set, he's home and dry really, unless the police or farmers spray him with mustard gas lol

2nd in todays stage, the last of the mountains.

It's Geraint Thomas' TDF to lose now, and that's very unlikely.

Agreed, he's been very impressive and sounds like it was a hell of a race today (waiting for highlights on Eurosport but followed the last hour or so online earlier).

If he wins, or rather "when", it has to be one of the greatest sporting achievements by a Welshman.

We should all make sure Thomas wins it! Been glued to the telly watching it, these guys are real athletes. Brutal agenda, scary descents and some awful crashes. C'mon Thomas!
