Are you claiming to have more credibility in political matters than the Governor of Texas? Show us your credentials then

Can’t you for once admit ‘**** me lads fair enough I’ve had a mare posting a fake quote I’ll hold my hands up to that’

    I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt.

I'm only interested in the quote are fascists now called anti-fascists. It doesn't really matter who said it, is it true or not? Debunk the idea not the person.

Is a quote actually a quote if nobody actually said it?

If a Gluey falls in the woods and nobody else is around, will it still repost right-wing propaganda?

In that case, wouldn't you have been better off just posting the "quote" without all of the other stuff - it would have made you sound profound, but now you're just coming across as, well.....................

I was bowing to the superior knowledge of the Texas Governor, he obviously sees merit in those words relavent to the world today.

Maybe these words from Churchill would strike a chord with the governor? ... The totalitarian system of a single party, armed with secret police, engrossing to itself practically all the offices, even the humblest, under the Government, with magistrates and courts under the control of the executive, with its whole network of domestic spies and neighbourly informants – that system when applied over a long period of time, leaves the broad masses without any influence upon their country’s destinies and without any independent figures apart from the official classes."

Yes Wales Bales he said that during the election campaign of 1945 in reference to Labour getting power.

It was roundly criticised at the time and seen as an epic failure which was on of the contributory factors to Labour winning a landslide.

But I’m sure you’ll find a way to relate it to tour alt right philosophy 😉👍

It was from Churchill’s July 27, 1943, speech about World War II and Italy to the House of Commons according to Politifact!

Research suggests . It was attributed to Huey Long ("When the United States gets fascism it will call it anti-fascism") by american papers in 1930s and 1940s however in 1951 historian Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. contacted Robert Cantwell to whom Long is supposed to have said the famous quote.

My bad.. I was hasty and thinking it was the speech he made during election campaign.

So why your point? Your chums in the alt right gang are our saviours whilst centre to centre left are the nee extremists?

Reading between the lines I’m guessing you’re thinking poor old Tommy is some sort of victim?

Just remember the definition, so that you can recognize it if you ever see it again.

    Politifact? What this Politifact?

    2015
PolitiFact's 2015 Lie of the Year was the "various statements" made by 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Politifact found that 76% of Trump's statements that they reviewed were rated "Mostly False," "False" or "Pants on Fire". Statements that were rated "Pants on Fire" included his assertion that the Mexican government sends "the bad ones over" the border into the United States, and his claim that he saw "thousands and thousands" of people cheering the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9/11.

    2016
PolitiFact's 2016 Lie of the Year was "fake news" referring to fabricated news stories including the Pizzagate conspiracy theory.

    2017
PolitiFact's 2017 Lie of the Year was Donald Trump's claim that Russian election interference is a "made-up story."The annual poll found 56.36% of the 5080 respondents agreed that Trump's "Pants on Fire" statement deserved the distinction. Raul Labrador's statement that " Nobody dies because they don't have access to health care," and Sean Spicer's statement that "[Trump's audience] was the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period," came in second and third place getting 14.47% and 14.25% of the vote respectively. In its article, PolitiFact points to multiple occasions where Donald Trump stated that Russia had not interfered with the election despite multiple government agencies claiming otherwise.
