Wtf !!
Did he have OJ's lawyer?
important thing is,do you think he will be selected for Trent bridge test
Didn't the jury see the video?
If you can afford a good Barrister then that helps.
Obviously it's acceptable for an Engerlund cricketer to have a few and punch a couple of blokes unconscious in a public place.
A great role model for youngsters eh!
Pathetic.
The "ordinary man in the street" would be bang to rights and it just goes to show that fame is power.
Exactly. The jury would have seen/ heard all the evidence, not just the bits the press publish. And let's not forget, the judge actually directed the jury to find one man not guilty as there was no case to answer. There was also the evidence given by a Police Officer which was totally at odds with the Community Support Officer's evidence. The CSO describing him as aggressive whilst the Police Officer said he was calm and compliant during his arrest.
The jury, having heard all the evidence from all parties have clearly decided that there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that he was guilty.
So funny.
In the video the guys are backing away and holding their hands up for him to stop and he continue to pursue them. The prosecution nailed it with something like you may have started off feeling threatened but you quickly lost control.
not so much self defence more forward defence

No idea, what is an SSO?
its a tragic miscarriage of justice
I think the issue is the charge was affray rather than ABH. The prosecution tried to change the charge at the early stages of the trial but left it too late in the day.
I have seen the charge sheet on twitter that was issued to the jury and if you get to the last section where it deems that would any person at the scene feel threatened you can see how the charge fell down because it was a fight between 2 small groups, rather than large scale affray.
If this story didn't make the papers it wouldn't have gone to court. Didnt both parties leave the police station after the event.

I’ve been done for affray in my younger days, and was nowhere near as aggressive as Stokes. There’s a point where self defence becomes an assault. Joke of a verdict.
He’s had a clever lawyer get him off on a technicality. If the charge was assault he would’ve been found guilty. Probably would’ve had to plead guilty.
