I played on both the rugby and football pitches back in my youth. The rugby match would have been for the school in January, where it gets dark at 4pm. One of the coldest and windiest nights I have ever played in, horrible!

Is that instead of City??!! I'm sorry but I am a plastic who supports Pontypridd Town.
Have you found the remains yet of the cowboy theme park they started to build above Blaenrhondda back in the 80s?Can't remember how far they got with it but they did start building it before it went tits up.
I played against Blaenrhondda many moons ago when they were Welsh League. They stuffed us (Treforest) 6-0 and as a Ponty League player they together with Taffs Well were the two "biggest" clubs I ever played against. Says a lot about my lack of footballing prowess.
I'll have to ask about the cowboy theme park

Looking at those pictures, I was walking the dog by there about an hour and a half ago.
I'm trying to think of the "biggest" team I played against - nothing as grand as Blaenrhondda FC .
Maerdy , Ferndale down to Tylorstown havent had it so great. Drove through there a couple of times and the fire damage on the mountains is terrible.
Love the drive over Treherbert over down Rhigos way. Great views up there om a clear day. Only spoilt by some farmer having a Jack flag outside his farm.
I'll be heading there tuesday for the game against Cwmaman.
Blog piece on my first Blaenrhondda FC match.

Wouldn't that whole area make a fantastic winter sports / adrenaline sports zone.
Artificial slopes, bobsled runs, zip slides etc.
With all that in place, we could in the future be talking about Wales' very own Cool Runnings team.
