Hiya PB, Aretha was so much more than we get to see and hear growing up. She was one of those people in life who shared what she had with those who needed it most, the poorest and infirm. Not too sure if many of my "heroes" are left nowadays, age takes it`s toll.

Didn't Rolling Stone readers vote her voice the best of the twentieth century? Whether I'm right or not, she certainly had one of the greatest - one of those voices which I think you'd know as soon as you heard it no matter what she was singing.

    RIP

First woman to be inducted to Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and could handle everything from her roots in Gospel all the way to Funk, and could do it live to the highest quality.

Hadn't realised that side of her. You're right about losing your heroes - too many of mine have now gone or won't have long...
