Neil Etheridge 6
Despite seeing Huddersfield boss possession in the opening half, Etheridge didn't have a single save to make in the opening half. Fine point-blank stop to deny Steve Mounie after the restart.
Bruno Manga 5
Was given a tough time by Rajiv van la Parra and Terence Kongolo and was unable to carry any threat in attack as Huddersfield dominated the ball while Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was forced off through injury early on. Got forward more in the second half.
Sean Morrison 6
A couple of nervy moments in the opening half as Huddersfield threatened, but was solid on the whole alongside Sol Bamba. Missed a golden opportunity with a header late on.
Sol Bamba 8 - Star Man
Excellent clearing header in the opening stages of the game as the Terriers saw plenty of the ball and put out several fires when the ball was delivered into the Cardiff box.
Joe Bennett 7
Had a whole lot on his plate with Florent Hadergjonaj and Adama Diakhaby but battled hard. Threw his body on the line to clear as the latter threatened just before the break and won more than his share of challenges. A fine shift from the left-back.
Victor Camarasa 6
A few neat touches but struggled at times with Huddersfield's physicality in the middle of the park. Wonderful pass to pick out Danny Ward who couldn't convert, and was withdrawn shortly after.
Joe Ralls 7
His efforts played a huge part in ensuring Etheridge was rarely tested while his influence in attack grew as the game wore on.
Harry Arter 7
Pressed the Terriers at every opportunity and interceptions proved vital as Cardiff looked to nullify Huddersfield's threat on the counter attack. A few attempts from distance in the second half failed to trouble the hosts.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing N/A
Had the first opportunity of the game as he burst through the Huddersfield defence, but a collision with Ben Hamer brought his game to a cruel end inside the opening 10 minutes.
Josh Murphy 7
The bulk of Murphy's work had to be done inside his own half, and credit to the winger who performed admirably when it came to giving Joe Bennett cover. Carried a real threat in attack after Huddersfield were reduced to 10-men but couldn't quite do enough to help Cardiff nick a win.
Kenneth Zohore 6
Fed on scraps during his time on the pitch but did put in a decent cross for Josh Murphy in a rare attack for the visitors. Little else to shout about and was hooked just before the hour mark.

Callum Paterson (for Mendez-Laing 9) - Little impact in the first half but was more influential after the break. Contribution in the air was important when Cardiff went direct. 6
Danny Ward (for Zohore 59) - A very lively introduction from the striker who harassed Huddersfield's defence for half an hour. Glorious chance to score when put through by Camarasa. 7
Bobby Reid (for Camarasa 75) - Raced through on goal late on and couldn't reach a header earlier on. 6
