Thread: Who was Neil Warnock referring to?

Who was Neil Warnock referring to?

In his pre game press conference, our manager talked about a possible surprise selection for today's match after he had been very impressed by this player, who had not been in his first team thoughts up to then, during training this week. Kadeem Harris was very good in the first half of last Monday's Development Team match and I suppose, given our recent defensive record, Mstt Connolly may come into contention, but, presuming it isn't a youngster, it's hard to think who else it could be.

    Callum Patterson, perhaps?
A more physical presence and capable of getting a goal.

Well, if it is Matthew Connolly, it will just go to underline how weak our squad is. Connolly was a bit-part player for us in the Championship, there's no way he should be near a Premier League starting Xl . That's the brutal truth.

I wondered about him, but I would have thought, having played some games and been used as a sub a few times, he would have been in Neil Warnock's thoughts already - maybe he is thinking in terms of giving Paterson a go as a striker?

Connolly has been a regular starter for the Under 23s lately and, based on what I've seen in a few of the games he's played for them and in the Cup game with Norwich, I'd be surprised if it was him.

I would be amazed if its connoly, it would be at right back instead of jazz or manga, can see him making the bench though with our injuries.

The only others could be Kads as you have stated and Loic?
But i just dont see him coming in instead of ralls, arter or camarasa.

    I reckon it’s Harris.
He also scored 2 for the under 23s last week

I don’t think tinkering with the team every week, this early in the season is a positive.

He needs to pick his best 11 and stick with it for a few games.

Agree. He can't do much worse than hoilett has been doing if it is him.

I think it’s Harris too. Few injuries in that area.

Harris looked terrible against Norwich in the cup. He would have had to inrpbe considerably to be in contention.

That’s being said I do think we are going to go back to 4-3-3 with wingers today.

He was poor against Norwich but then again so was everyone else.

I think he would benefit from being in a forward 3 rather than an out and out winger in a 4 4 2

If its Kadeem Harris it just shows how desperate the situation is.
