The way the team are performing, a ban isn't necessary.

Read that earlier. Some people have far too much time on their hands.

Unfortunately nearly everything that starts its life in a random university somewhere, seems to make it's way into everyday life eventually.

"Don't get the clap while you're at uni" always good advice.

A ban wouldn't have any affect on the real hardcore cult members at CCS. dml1954, as an example, could have his arms and legs shackled but still find a way to stand on his seat to clap like a demented seal every time City win a throw-in.

    And you are not demented?

Does this not discrminate against those with one arm and the visually impared? And...are those showing appreciation expected to remain silent whilst giving it jazz hands? Next thing you know it will be like Stamford Bridge😁

    Nothing worse than the clap

It's wierd how this story keeps resurfacing, it's almost as though the newspapers are running out of things to annoy us with.
This first surfaced 4 years ago at least, and the last time I checked clapping was still pretty widespread - except of course for in the houses of parliament where it has been actively discouraged for a very long time, without anyone feeling that it was an affront on their way of life.

The thunder clap would be a bit tame.

Which made me think of this beauty https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tgS1RFk1cU8

To be fair, I thought that the crowd was still very supportive and animated even last Sunday - and those who stayed behind (or can't exit the stadium for ten minutes due to the appalling exits that clog up) met the team and Warnock with a sustained round of applause after the game had finished.

I know, just needed some artistic material in order to connect a clapping ban and the Cardiff City stadium. All in the name of comedy.

Sludge has proposed silently waving one's old boy around as an alternative method of expressing approval. Humouring his madcap, and typically filthy suggestion, I asked how women might convey their agreement. "By shaking their thingummyjigs," came his reply accompanied with his familiar smutty grin.

Theresa May just did the jazz hands thing at the Conservative Convention, so there maybe something to it! It doesn't take very long for people to be "shamed" into conformity, the evidence is all around us.

It’s aimed at the old and uneducated to get them whipped up in to a frenzy, they’ll believe anything and love an excuse to say how things were better in their day. Also a good way to swing people with politics too. See also the majority of conspiracy theories.
