No he isn't. More chance that Serena Williams would be offered the job.

This - I find it a bit tiresome from keyboard warriors who would not know where to start when it comes to managing a football club.

So he moved a few players on? How hard than that be? Surely agents do most of the work?

He moved players on and kept us competitive. Give the bloke some credit at least, he was miles better than his predecessor.

Russell Slade left over 3 years ago.

Why do some of our fans still seem to be obsessed by him?????

He moved a few on but he still had a squad good enough to get to the playoffs. He was better than OGS but competitive is stretch. We were never really in the race.

We were 2 points off with 7 to play. Considering he got us through a transfer embargo, I think he gets a raw deal.

You are quite right. We were very close to get into playoffs too, but I remember commenting on here that the game v Rotherham was the worst I had seen at CCS.
By the way Vincent keeps in touch with Slade so don't get too complacent.

Maybe Vince is just a nice appreciative man ,and wants to show a respect for the added value Russell Slade brought to rescuing the club from the previous spendthrifts ,he moved on 12 players ,with a transfer embargo slapped on us, making it even tougher .

The football was rubbish but I met him once and seemed a nice guy. At end of day he left us in a better postion then where we were

Competitive? I felt like if we scored it was down to luck.

We maybe looking for a new manager in a couple of weeks?....

    Re: Russell Slade

Yes, Russel was a genius. First he addressed the horrible fitness levels in the team. He was a tactical genius, with a nose for finding bargain players with generous talent. And like many said, he cleared a lot of “deadwood”
This old plank, he gave away for free.
