Indeed. I would do it yourself unless Ryanair is concerned. Tell me more...

I currently have a case on the go with Wizzair and am doing it free of charge via the Retail Ombudsman.

I have just had 2 claims, both for me and my lad, settled within 5 months of making the claim via a firm of Solicitors who specialise in this. They take a big chunk for their fee, but totally hassle free.........you can do it yourself but it will take you forever and a day (just to save a hundred or so quid). No win no fee....we claimed the max allowed as our delays were 6 hours both times.

    good luck either way

In the case of Ryanair it is probably advisable to write off 40% of your claim no-win, no-fee solicitors - but with some other airlines it is advisable to use this site (if the airline is signed up to their scheme), which will cost you nothing https://www.theretailombudsman.org.uk/

for the record, we issued court proceedings against both airlines before they buckled and coughed...when I say we...I mean our solicitors (they took in total 40% of claim proceeds received)

I've tried on my own, see how I go before needing to get solicitors involved. Sent initial comp claim four days ago, heard nowt so far.

    Re: Claiming For Flight Cancellations

Back in June Easyjet cancelled my Sunday morning flight from Gatwick to Toulose for the
Wales v Russia game. It was cancelled at 10 pm the evening before.
I had to travel business class by Eurostar to Paris as that was all that was left and then on to Toulose
by another train which cost £310.

Within 3 weeks I had got my flight cost back plus the statutary compensation for inconvenience.

It took another 2 months to get my rail fairs back but all done by myself.

Easyjet also sent me regular apologetic e-mails during the process.

They are complete bastards. It was a rare case of my not being able to win a consumerist war without assistance.

    Re: Claiming For Flight Cancellations

In 2017 we were 11 hours late arriving in Athens from Glasgow due to a technical fault with our KLM flight which resulted in the flight being canceled. They managed to get us on British Airways via Heathrow and we finally arrived at our hotel at 2 AM. That time I didn't know that I am eligible for compensation but my brother told me that I can claim compensation from airlines. I checked some online resources and here: https://www.claimflights.co.uk/airlines/klm-royal-dutch I found that I can claim 400€ from KLM. I wrote a letter to airline asking for flight compensation they responded within 3 weeks, sent me compensation in my bank account.
