Maybe its best we didn't win if we were playing that way. I've no problems with youngsters playing different systems and formations, they won't play under the same manager all their career so its good to get some experience of playing different ways. If Madine's up front then the options are going to be limited anyway. However, I struggle to see the point of playing skilful midfielders if you're just going to kick the ball over their head all game. It happened a lot last season too. Like you say, what are we learning about them in games like that?

By the way, I see Rabbi Matondo got the only goal of the game for Man City u-21s at Tranmere tonight in that Checkatrade Trophy thing.
