But the truth hurts
I never knew the Royal Glamorgan hospital was under investigation.
Is this really true :
""that devolution has created what is effectively a one-party State""
If true are we nearing the Marxist utopia a lot prey , and hope for in Wales?
Healthcare in Wales is an interesting issue, unfortunately it is all too often used for political point scoring.
Wales has the oldest population of pretty much any region in the UK, it is also one of the poorest, and it has an elderly population many of whom worked in industries that have detrimental health effects.
Taking these things into account Wales has greater challenges in healthcare to overcome than other parts of the UK.
The differences in the way it's run between England and Wales are pretty minimal really, so to suggest one is not fit for purpose while the other is great is difficult to argue.
And don't forget that the amount of public funds Wales receives is still determined by Westminster and the Barnett Formula. So overall cuts in Westminster means cuts in Cardiff - it's just down to the Welsh Assembly where these cuts take place.
I don't think anyone could argue that changes and efficiencies need to be made, but in the current era of austerity NHS Trusts are going to struggle whether they be in England or Wales.
