Thread: Matthew Hedges, our man in the UAE

Matthew Hedges, our man in the UAE

Am I alone in thinking this guy is a complete and utter prat ?

He describes himself as "an intelligence analyst at a cyber-intelligence firm in the UK" .

His latest reasearch covered battlefield technology, the UAE's repsonse to the Arab Spring, the UAE's relationship between civil and military, etc, etc.

Then waltzes all over the UAE interviewing ex- govt. officials, etc.

Whilst no-one would wish an innocent man to be imprisoned I can't help thinking he really was naive, at best, and maybe was involved in 'intelligence' in some small way..

The government certainly seem to invest a lot more time and effort trying to secure the release of some so-called 'academics'.
It's as if the government are concerned that they may divulge a bit more than they should if they stayed any longer.

Intelligence gathering should be a degree entry qualification.

Change of goverment and all this sillyness , will be gone

Yep, they usually pose as embassy staff (a bit obvious), finance executives, charity workers or journalists.
