I have seen every minute of each away game online.

It has been a painful experience.

It is tiresome watching your team chase shadows, give the little possession they get away with such regularity, be closed down so quickly by 1-3 opponents, lose so many 50-50's, aimlessly lump it towards Paterson, waste set pieces, look terrified when opponents midfielders run towards their area, lose so many first balls from corners sent in to their area etc etc

Last night for 50 minutes, City were in the game notwithstanding missing a spot kick. Then 3 goals that most PL teams would have easily avoided and cut out at its initial source take the game away.

As you allude to in your piece, who knows what would have happened had we gone 1 up? But even at 0-0 City were looking good in the last 20 minutes of first half and first few minutes of second; Camarassa did what we rarely do, a midfielder in the box for a cut back which was well blocked. Then in a blink of an eye its all over due to a Keystone Cops moment from Bennett & Morrison.

It is feasible, if not likely that City will not get an away win this season. They seem incapable of staunching offensive play at pace either down the flank or through the middle - Watford and palace will relish the opportunity to attack our colander of a defensive midfield. Plus City have no ability on the break.

It means as an analyst said last night which was patently obvious, that there is too much pressure on City at home.

    Good post.

Rabbits in the headlights most of us last night and little faith in themselves and each other.

Need someone new in January even if just to freshen things up but hopefully provide some inspiration.

On the other hand, there are four teams below us in the table who are under at least the same pressure, if not more, than us and also another two just above us in exactly the same position. Its all about us finishing fourth from bottom or better. Nothing has changed in the last week - it was always about survival this season and we have just as good a chance as the other six teams around us. You appear to have given up all hope but I havent and am enjoying this season.

Granted we have been poor away from home, we haven't been totally terrible, Everton we were in it, and Huddersfield, as well as West Ham until they lost their heads. We've also played the entire top 4 and two others in the top 7 on our travels this season, as well as West Ham, a tough place to go who will probably finish in the top half now they've found their feet... and Huddersfield. So the only truly beatable team we've played away from we did at least get a point. Watford onwards we don't really play anyone who shouldn't be looked as beatable away from home until very late on in the season. We'll win twice away from home this season, at least. I'd bargain Fulham will be one of those, they love giving us 3 points in the Prem.

I agree. We've had some really tough away games but there will be some that we can go toe-to-toe with. As you mentioned Fulham, Newcastle, Southampton, Burnley, Brighton and Palace will give us opportunities to grab some points. If we could win two of those, we might only need to win 4 more at home.

The media narrative against us this season, as there is a narrative for nearly every team would ignore that we've had a very tough start away from home. Interestingly Robbie Earle who presents for NBC who occasionally commentates our games or is in the American studios did acknowledge this recently, basically saying it's all well and good saying the results aren't coming away from home for Cardiff, but the only team they will have looked at and thought "we could get something", we did! Clearly NBC didn't get the memo that we couldn't play football, are the dirtiest prem team ever and that we'd break Derby's low points record.

I'm confident that we'll grind some away wins out. It would just be really nice for one of them to be at one of the big dogs, where we've never even got a point let alone a win in either season.

If we don't get any joy on the road then the pressure on the team to win (not draw) at home is going to be even more acute.

What is so frustrating is that if (big word in football) we had gone 1 up you just don't know what would have occurred.
