    End of Season points total

Assuming that our points total of 14 from 16 games is replicated for rest of season then 33 points is possible.

    38/16 x 14 = 33.25

Swansea & Stoke went down with 33 points last May, Southampton stayed up with 36.

Using the same raw statistical analysis the teams currently below us will stay below us.

Last season after match day 16:

    Manchester City: 46
    Manchester United: 35
    Chelsea: 32
    Liverpool: 30
    Arsenal: 29
    Tottenham Hotspur: 28
    Burnley: 28
    Leicester City: 23
    Watford: 22
    Everton: 19
    Southampton: 18
    Huddersfield Town: 18
    Brighton & Hove Albion: 17
    Bournemouth: 16
    Stoke City: 16
    Newcastle United: 15
    West Bromwich Albion: 13
    West Ham United: 13
    Swansea City: 12
    Crystal Palace: 11

Re: End of Season points total

5 wins and 5 draws should be enough. 4 or 5 home wins and a bunch of away draws (maybe sneaking a win) would be most welcome.

I think we have enough to get the 4 or 5 wins at home. The trick will be for us to maintain moral when we go on a run of 3/4/5 games without picking up a point. There are some months (December and the Christmas period looking particularly difficult) where it wouldn't surprise me if we picked up 0 points. We'll probably drop down the table, the media will get on our backs, and the players will have to draw their inspiration from the games played in November, to spur them on when the more winnable games do come around. We'll need to be opportunistic.

The recruit/s in January could well make the difference between us going down or staying up as well . Get it right and it could add an extra 6 or so points to the total.
