Re the Exeter incident, at the time they had a 'firm' called the Anti-Welsh League that consisted of pimply 15-year-olds, but we told Sludge tall stories of how they were made up of tough farm labourers who loved to put the welly in. He was always a notorious runner and often a no show. When getting tanked up in boozers at away games readying to get stuck into locals, he'd go AWOL before the mass exit. He would slip away to sup a pint of mild in the snug with the old dears.

You were never there when it mattered! Whenever fists flew you were always 100 yards away tying your shoelaces, feigning a coughing fit, being struck down with cramp or your ankle was playing up or suffering nut ache and having to rearrange your thong.
