I would say it was inevitable if or when he showed the slightest sign of a return to his form of the second half of 16/17.

It would be good to see if he can bring that back into his game, as he went past one of the Man U defenders with ease.
We may just stand a chance if he is on his game , its wether he needs to fit in with Reid as a no 10 as he does have a poachers instinct.

I agree. He can’t play up there on his own.
He needs someone near him.

Ideally a big man who can give him flick one and knock downs, as he’s not that great in the air.

However I also think Reid needs to be in and around the box, so I’d go away from the ideal and play him in there.

The other reason would be, in order to fit 2 strikers in and also fill midfield we need to go 3-5-3 and Patterson is ideal for the right side role’ also he gives us a dominant out ball as he’ll win loads of headers against a full back

An early yellow, away from home could be disastrous! If someone like Arter or Bamba picked up an early yellow, they'd likely be substituted at half-time. The home fans would be right on the referee to dismiss "a dirty, cheating, Cardiff thug".
