On route and looking forward to this one. Hopefully see them playing with a bit of freedom and getting at the defence.

Don't be too confident. Gillingham have, in recent weeks, turned table-toppers Portsmouth over twice (2-0 each time).

    Surprisingly strong starting 11.

    What's the point playing Damour?

So we can rest Arter, Camarasa and Gunnarsson.

Maybe a potential purchaser would like to see him play.

But why play him ahead of a youngster?

Don’t think the 3 that went are centre midfielders

Humphries is and Waite could play there.

Thought Humphries was a striker and Waite wide midfield ?

Also nice to see Danny Ward back

Waite or Humphries could play there, or even someone else from the academy like Spence

Damour started well. I know it's only Gillingham but showing composure in midfield that we've been missing.

Weird seeing our neat passing game.

But is that their proper position?
No good being ‘able to play there’, if they play it should be in their proper position or you are setting them up to fail ?
Centre midfield of all positions isn’t one you will get shown up unless you play there regularly. I know that from painful experience of chasing shadows of 2 lads who were good enough to be pros and playing in the Rhymney Valley League !

I don’t think it would help much to throw them into an unfamiliar role at this level even if they ‘can play there’

As I said to Paul, I thought Waite played wide midfield and Humphries up front.

Is that not the case ?

If you guys watch regularly I’m sure you know better than me.

Hopefully we get a bit of comfort and the lads can come on and show what they can do.

Spence played for the under 18s this morning.

I think he’s only just come back from a long layoff otherwise, yes I’d say he’d be a good shout from what I’ve heard/ read

The Guardian is currently saying that Gillingham have 58% of possession. Doesn't sound right.

    5.8% at a push

75% possession, 8 shots, total dominance. Zero cutting edge. Shows the difference between ourselves and the top sides. Patts needs to be more direct & cut out the flicks & back heels.

That's more like it. I was thinking we might be up in the 70s.

Our build up play has been good but our shooting has been poor.

Our shooting and decision making up front has been shocking.
