    Championship finances

    An excellent Twitter thread here
    https://twitter.com/SwissRamble/stat...875293696?s=19
On the finances of championship clubs
    In which we feature.
There was a premier league version s few days ago which was very different in terms of contribution of owner Vs other income.

Several of the charts on there show that we are really reliant on Vincent Tan, but also we sold £10 million pounds worth of property, what would that have been?

Sale of Ninian Park probably , where the club was allowed to keep the majority of the proceeds to put towards the cost of the new stadium even though NP was Council owned.

    Also from Swiss ramble.
On an article about Birmingham city's finances last season (which are a real mess)
But noticed that our promotion winning season in 12/13 we had one of the highest wages to turnover ratios in the history of the championship

It does highlight just how fantastic Neil Warnock's effort in gaining promotion last season was, and a full five years after.

And our 12/13 side was the fourth highest wage bill ever in the championship for a club without parachute payments.

The most remarkable one on there are Birmingham who spent so much and finished 19th

Shows why clubs are desperate to get to the ‘promised land’.

It’s not all it’s cracked up to be though
