Potential new recruits will have seen highlights of all our games and other teams around us in the EPL.

They may have been impressed with one or two individual displays in a few matches and the great support the team gets.

They may have concerns about:

  • Lack of composure on the ball in all areas of the pitch leading to loss of possession, avoidable goals being conceded and a poor conversion rate.

  • Relative skill level of current squad compared with the likes of 'smaller' teams such as Burnley, Bournemouth, Watford.

  • The 'Warnock' factor ... although we 'love' him for what he's done for us, will potential signings be impressed with his tactics, style of play etc?

  • The fact that large sums of money has already been spent on players whose involvement has been limited (Reid, Murphy, Tomlin, Madine)

  • The perception that Cardiff City may not the best place to be if you want to further your career.
