Were we ever? Good luck getting Warnock to work with one.

Warnock won't be here forever though, and then we are back to a non football person appointing the next manager

I'm not saying that isn't an issue but were we ever going to have one?

Not too sure who we could get but Steve Walsh at Leicester is available. He can dine out on Mahrez and Vardy until the end of his career.

    Warnock (or Lennie Lawrence)

Let's get a few new players before a Director of Football.

Maybe we need a DoF to actually get some deals across the line!

I think Warnock is a brilliant man manager, able to get a team playing to more than the sum of their parts.
That isn't what the dof is there for though, you almost need the complete opposite of Warnock. Someone who is up to date with the latest developments in scouting and analytics, modern tactical approaches etc but can't manage a team themselves.
I've always thought Andre villas boas would be an excellent DOF, but clearly not for us.

The same AVB who completely wasted Tottenham's Bale money?

He signed some good players with that money

    Erikson, Lamela, capoue, paulihno

Eriksen makes up for it but they're hardly hits. Although Damien Comoli was the DoF then.

Looks like Arsenal are losing Sven Mislintat, he'd probably make a good DofF but again somewhat higher up the food chain than us

The only success was Eriksen, who was well known as the next big thing at that time anyway. Hardly a ringing endorsement

I don't think he ultimately failed due to signings or tactical knowledge though, I just don't think he made a very inspiring leader. Similar story at Chelsea.
When he was a scout he was known as one of the best around, you can still find the occasional scout report from him online and they are pretty detailed.

If we're gonna be ambitious. Let's offer Monchi a massive wage

Well, Bielsa set to leave Leeds at 5pm (seriously), so let's just get him as manager and Monchi to sign the players.

Bielsa is mad as a box of frogs, I can't believe he's resigning. Leeds fans must be sick

If he does go, Leeds will go into meltdown. His sides play amazing football but not sure he's a long term option for anyone! He'd be great at a club like us though, we'd play class football, good players would want to come here and even if we burnt out, we'd just be midtable. Ah the dream.

Would love him here, a match made in heaven with Tan

Our fans would go mad, they moan like feck now if we pass it back to the keeper

Mislintat going to Stuttgart in 2 bundesliga next season, maybe we could have been in with a shout if we had been interested?
