Thread: Relegation rivals.

    Relegation rivals.

What do you make of them going into the last 16 games ?

I find it particularly interesting how the media are talking about Burnley having got over their slump.

I think they’ve been unremarkable/fortunate in the games I’ve seen and I think they’ll be near the the bottom come the end of the season.

    Huddersfield look fukt.

    Fulham are dodgy.

The rest are much of a muchness.

I think ultimately Newcastle will get enough wins to survive. Palace will be fine if they keep Zaha and Townsend fit.

Southampton have got a decent squad but seem to struggle defensively. The new manager bounce is obviously working for them after a slow start. I think they’ll be safe.

Fulham will go down unless they strengthen significantly at the back.

Which I think leaves us fighting it out with Burnley for the final relegation spot. They were probably the worst team I’ve seen at the CCS this season (apart from maybe us last week!) But it’s a sign of a decent side to win whilst not playing well, like they did at the CCS and last week(0 shots on goal for a 2-1 win).

I suppose much depends on how well our new signings fit in and any additional players we can get in.

If you check out the various analysis / prediction sites they are very similar,

they all have Hudds & Fulham relegated with the 3rd spot a dog fight between ourselves, Burnley & Newcastle, with no more than 2 points separating us.

At the start of the month they had Burnley in 18th, currently they have us as the 3rd side.

Pretty much agree with this. Momentum and fixtures are going to be crucial.

I think Newcastle could be a possibility but we would need to beat them today.

I do think Fulham will go down but could see them stringing a win streak together their last 6 games are quite nice ones to end on a run.

So it's between Burnley, Fulham and us ...... at least on this showing.

Totally agree. I have sympathy with Niassa and Sala.
We could have Harry Kane and it would make little difference.
Our style needs a complete overhaul

One shot on target in two matches against relegation rivals. ****ing useless.

    Re: Relegation rivals.

What's the chances of Sala changing his mind.
I reckon we need 4 or 5 new players.

You have your answer. The bottom 3 now will be the 3 to go down.

    Next up:
    Southampton v Palace
    Man U v Burnley
    Newcastle v Man City
    Arse v City

    Fulham v Spurs
    Fulham v Brighton

3/4 wins and a few draws and we’ll survive. It’s not a done thing.

True but the way we have played in these last 2 games (against relegation rivals), I'm struggling to see how or where those wins would come from.

I knew those two points we dropped against Huddersfield were massive.
