We're woefully lacking central midfield options. Ralls and Damour aren't good enough, which means that we're hugely reliant on Arter, Camarasa and Gunnarsson staying fit and playing well.

Playing 2 in midfield with 2 up top and 2 out wide is such an outdated tactic it’s no wonder we couldn’t get any possession.

We're probably going to play the rest of the season with 5 strikers / number 10s and 4 wingers in the squad, but only 5 midfielders. It's hugely unbalanced.

Warnock said in his press conference defence yesterday he would rather have 2 strikers and not get a midfielder in.

He also said the midfielders we’ve looked at are no better than Ralls!!!

Not addressing the right back and striker situation since May and the following list of wasted money (not starting) doesn't fill me with confidence of his ability to spot or sign a player -

Tomlin - £2.5 Million
Madine - £6 Million
Reid - £10 Million
Murphy - £11 Million
Cunningham - £4 Million
Smithies - £4 Million

You could argue that we have actually got worse in some of those positions as we go with the player who was already in the starting 11 but a year older/slower.

As mentioned before too when we sign Patterson and can't/won't pick him at RB because he can't defend and seemingly won't start Murphy because he isn't great defensively it is laughable.

Are these players suddenly being bad defensively or is our scouting so bad that they are missing these key skills missing from a potential signings game?
