L’Équipe have now seen the final text message that Emiliano Sala sent to his closest Argentine friends (possibly a group chat of some kind). In it, Sala says he is scared the plane “could fall to pieces” & that “if you don’t hear from me in 1.5 hours...”

I think sending a message before getting on a plane saying you are scared and sending a message during the flight saying you are scared are quite different actually. Yes you are correct, Caution best applied in these events I think.

You would never get me into one of those aircraft unless it was flying over dry land on a beautiful sunny day.

    Haunting indeed. Gut wrenching. Sickening.

That guy is the pilot equivalent of a base jumper. He thinks it's normal to risk a plane getting iced up during bad weather conditions, and then hope that a descent cures the problem. If it doesn't, plan B is to ditch into the sea and hope somebody rescues you. He seems to have the profile of a risk taker.

“Estoy muerto” ...directly translated as “I’m dead” but actually means “I’m knackered” .

The rest is gallows humor but I can’t imagine he was genuinely worried for his life. It’s a bit dark but “lighthearted” all the same.

The Times is reporting that the plane wreckage has been found, which I took to be a significant development:

    https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/n...ound-8grhgh2qq

But reading the article (you can see a lot of it on the BBC website here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-46968019), it is clear that they are referring to the unidentified objects that were reported by the police earlier, and then goes on to say that it is not confirmed that these are from the aircraft. This is not the time to complain about inaccuarate reporting, but there is one hell of a difference between "plane wreckage found" and "objects that cannot be confirmed as coming from an aircraft".

So despite the headline - no new info. Still hoping that this will somehow turn out OK.

Almost 36 hours since the disappearance, hardly thought about anything else since I heard the news.

I'm feeling the exact same ...... Can't imagine how those at the club who have been personally dealing with his transfer are feeling.

Guernsey Police focusing on Life Raft Option which was on board apparently.

    " 9.30am

We are searching based on four possibilities:

    1. They have landed elsewhere but not made contact.
    2. They landed on water, have been picked up by a passing ship but not made contact
    3. They landed on water and made it into the life raft we know was on board
    4. The aircraft broke up on contact with the water, leaving them in the sea.

Our search area is prioritised on the life raft option.

More updates as information becomes available"

Keep the faith and still praying.
