Gwaelod y Garth Inn, very good food in a relaxed pub atmosphere, it’s a bit posher upstairs in the main dining room but you can’t take your dog in there. Best to book if there are enough of you to need tables being moved together.

Depends where you live/want to go. The Railway Inn in Llanfabon (Nelson) is as good a place as any.

It's a bog standard Brains pub doing bog standard Brains beer and food. There's no reason to travel there if you have a Brains pub nearer.

The Plymouth in St Fagans is good and the Maenllwyd in Rudry is good

The Sportmans Rest in Peterston-Super-Ely does a lovely Sunday lunch. Also lovely place to go for a little drink in the summer when the missus is driving. Not sure about the dog friendly part.
