When I were a lad, said in a know-it-all Warnock-esque Yorkshire accent, it wasn't uncommon to regularly have huge snowfalls, sometimes in July and August too. But did we complain?

Yes, we moaned endlessly about the b'stard white stuff!
Pah!
When I was a lad, in the 1963 winterwe lived in Garnlydan (Bit further up than Ebbw Vale)
We had a snow drift up the side of the house, touching the roof!
It stayed for ages, and when it froze, we tunneled through it.
I had to dig trenches in the snow by our fence to stop the mountain ponies walking into the garden!
