Plenty of reasons to be cheerful.
Niasse looked like a proper C.F., Bobby Reid goals (can he be our Ernie at West Brom?), Ken back.
    Fantastic result

Outstanding. Took our chances and to a man we fought tooth and nail to hold what we had.

It wasn’t pretty but the result is all that matters today.

Credit to the players and management Did the club proud.

Even I had a lump in my throat at the end watching Warnock let it all out.

    Bamba was my MOTM. Immense.

We still lost posession too easily, too many times, but what an effort from the boys.

They are a good side, they move the ball quickly, but I felt we really stuck to the task today. Warnocks sides always give a lot of effort but today was something else. To a man we were immense.

Deliberate handball is a yellow, given its blatancy and location arguably a red, but we weren't gonna score from that cross. Definitely a yellow though

A well-deserved win. Best display of the season.

Lee Cafu Peltier proved me wrong today, today was probably his best performance in a city shirt to date. The front three are exactly what we have needed, hopefully he sticks with the same three next week. Deserved win.

I thought we were excellent tonight and I really enjoyed the game. Reid should finally get a spot in the team now he being utilised a bit better. Niasse was a right handful especially first half, and Murphy was a constant thorn in their side, his cross in the first half was outstanding

So does xG only really look at where the shot was taken?

Etheridge made an incredible save that would have been a definite goal but is that not considered a great chance here because of where the shot was taken from?

    Short answer is..mostly yes.
Depending on the model being used xG takes into account shot location, which foot / header, where the preceding pass was from and the best ones also if under defensive pressure and position of defenders / keeper.

Even with all of those factors though that shot wouldn't have generated much xG, because the vast majority of time, those kind of shots miss or are saved

    So in reality it’s pointless?

That’s definitely a slight flaw in it then I suppose, although I expect more often than not shots from that distance aren’t goals.
