    Len Ashurst Trophies

Now a Craft Ale bar, when did Canton become hipster? It's the second Craft Ale bar on that same stretch of Llandaf Rd.

The other had enough room for a dozen people and had the football on a large TV. Looked lovely.

Do you mean St Canna's on the corner? Been open for ages, maybe more than a year. The other one you're on about is Crafty Devil, run by a local brewery. Great place to have a drink and watch footie

Len Ashurst trophies closed some years ago although I believe it stayed open for a while after Len moved back to the North East.

A Beauty and make up shop moved in immediately after. Don't know when that closed.

A 'beauty' shop in Canton? No wonder it closed, they must've had one hell of a job on.

A granny from a Splott family passes away. Her young grandson asks his mum what’s happened to her, as he hasn’t seen her for weeks. Trying not to upset the young lad, his mum says “Granny’s gone to a better place”” the young lad says “**** me, that could be anywhere!!!”

St Canna's opened in April 2017. I go in there for a pint before most matches and often after as well. It has an ever changing range of Welsh beers. Not just James, the owner, but the staff are friendly and plenty of non-hipsters go in there. Often get to chat to away fans who seek it out before the game.

I know it closed down. I used to get all my award trophies from there when the website handed out an award at the annual awards night.

Only noticed the craft ale bar today.

Len Ashurst gave me a bit of advice when i was an Apprentice at the club during his second visit-I took a cup of tea into his office, obviously for him-I was holding it not by the handle but around the rim-He said 'Son, never carry a cup of tea like that, you might have had your finger up your arse' He must've been watching me.

I think you'll find no better lesson Len left us , for which we can all take time today to be thankful for for him raising our awareness - never accept a cup of tea from someone carrying it with their hand around the rim - they may have had their finger up their bum. R.I.P. Len
