And what a win. The sort of result that for years we seemed completely incapable of achieving, winning at the death after conceding so late.

It wasn't pretty and we didn't play anywhere near as well as we did at Arsenal but the sheer drive and determination today was something to behold.

Southampton played the ball around comfortably on the floor in front of us, and Redmond looked a real threat, but aside from one mad goalmouth scramble in the second half and a couple of routine saves for Etheridge, they didn't hurt us much. The defence, missing Morrison and including Peltier, did an excellent job.

As Warnock said, the subs also worked a treat today, with each of them making a big contribution - Zohore holding the ball up well just when we needed him to (and scoring of course!), Camarasa adding some composure (and an assist) and Bacuna a bit of drive and energy in midfield (was Gunnar injured?).

We still conceded possession too easily and didn't show much up front, but today was all about the result.

And as for the scenes at the end........
