Played well at home v Preston in the first half when it was 0-0 got subbed at half time we lost 4-0.
    Underrated in my opinion.
According to Alex Ferguson Andrea ferretti would be a class player one day. (Still waiting).

Didn't we also sign a couple of Australians around the time of Jorn Schwinkendorf? No idea what their names were though.

We sometimes sing a song based on Hey Jude. Is that based on Jude The Obscure?

Albert Burns, one game in the League Cup 63/4
Brian Rees, played in the FA Cup 71/2 v Sunderland at Man City.
Kevin Bartley, son of Danny Bartley (Swansea).
    Nilson Callaway.

    There's loads of them.

Kim Bo Kyung probably makes it into this category as he's now back in the K League. Well known to us but obscure to the wider football public

    Some of the Norwegians

Peter Zois, goalkeeper who made one appearance about 20 years ago and was shown the door.
Cameron Toshack., his football ability came from his mothers side of the family rather than his fathers..

He only started one league game for us. And wikipedia has him scoring no goals. I must admit the Gloucester game is the only time I recall seeing him play, and I think he came on as sub when we were already 2-0 down.

I attended a lecture / discussion a few weeks' ago about Walter Tull, and Derrick Christie was in the audience, and then joined in the Q&A session.

I had a brief chat with him, one of the topics being his friendship with John Buchanan

I remember feeling very sorry for a young, inexperienced Lyn Davies playing behind an appalling City defence. He was on the end of some very heavy defeats until Brian Harris arrived and eventually sorted the defence out. I think he conceded 8 on his only Wales U23 cap as well. His confidence was unsurprisingly shot.

Winston Faerber was a touch of the exotic at the time.

Terry Harkin. 10 goals in 20 games in the 60s. Promised a lot but failed to maintain his form.

He scored two late goals to get us a replay and he then scored the only goal in a 1-0 win. He was hardly seen again.

Who was that Irish fella who scored the winner at Wolves, the season we were banned ????

Re: Obscure players that once played for us

Dave Greene, Andy Thompson, Seamus Kelly, Leigh Vick, John Cross.

There was a time when most who played for us were obscure, to be fair.
