Thread: Swansea v Brentford

    Swansea v Brentford

Anyone watching this on BBC ?

I believe the Swansea defender (number 17) has got his dates mixed up.
Surely he is a prop forward for the Ospreys ?

Brentford one nil up at half-time. Booing from home crowd during one minute of extra time when Jacks passing it around half-way line rather than getting it into the box.

Brentford much better side and Swansea stillsuffering with over playing and making 15 passes without reaching the half way line.

1-1 now with one of the luckiest free kicks I have seen. Typical

    2-1 to Swansea.
    Absolutely unbelievable.

While both sides have reputation for good football, all the goalmouth action this half has come from scrappy, ugly football and mistakes from opposition. Good closing down from James, good control on the break and good composure to finish but what were Brentford trying to from that free-kick?

4-1. Swansea in quarter finals of fa cup.

Turning out to be a decent season for them:

    Officials joining in now.

4th goal ruled out. Should have stood

Very strange decision that! Awful decision. Great 2nd half to be fair.

Wouldn't mind us picking Dan James up cheap in the summer when they sell off what's left down there.

I think they will be getting a lot more than the 8million they accepted from Leeds 2 weeks ago.

Very exciting player at the very least. Can see why Leeds wanted him. Another promising young welsh attacker.

Potentially some interesting ties in the next round:

    Man City v Man United
    Brighton v Palace
    Millwall v Watford
    Swansea v Wolves

What is it with Maupay missing open goals in South Wales. Not as bad as his Miss against us last year but not far off.

Great pace and finish by Dan james but you've got to take a look at he Brentford defending, they didn't even have a fullback covering. Same with the sending off, piss poor pass that forced the defender to foul James-whoever made that pass should be apologising.

Fair point, actually. You don't often get to see forward players doing 'full sprints' numerous times throughout a game. The fact that James seemed to be at full pace during almost every attack in the second half won't be great viewing for Brentford fans.

Still... he looks a talent that, at times, appeared like he would never show. Let's hope the Jacks stay out of the Premier League and keep providing Welsh players with first team football.

He certainly does look like a talent-agreed. I just can't believe how Brentford defended-absolutely shocking.

Didn't realise he's from Yorkshire. His dad is from Aberdare. Ties with Swansea 4 seasons in the academy. He'll think of himself as a Jack but Bobby Reid was a Wurzel.

James and Matondo off the bench for Wales to run at tired defenders could be interesting over the next couple of seasons.

Seem to be mixed reports on Matondo from Schalke fans, but still very early days

The 2 defenders who stayed back looked slower than me ! Did you see the 3rd lad getting back, he was rapid and shot past the other 2 and almost caught up with James.., and then wiped the keeper out 😂

They also should have been a couple more up before half time. They picked Swansea’s defence apart and seemed to get carelessly caught offside time and time again.

Once, when he only had to tap it over th line

Similar to when they played us here. They must be so frustrating to support
