    Re: RIP Hal Blaine

He played drums on 38 Billboard No.1 records, including Grammy Award Record of the Year winner six times in a row.

This wasn't one of them, but should have been!

It's quite a few FNT that's for sure

I must have spent weeks and months of my life listening to his drumming, possibly even years! Pet Sounds is one of my all time favourite albums, and this fella was everywhere is the 60's and the 70's, as integral member of the famous LA Wrecking Crew.

Of the 100s of great songs Hal played on, this is one of my favourites. A great Northern Soul classic, sadly under-played:

Here is the Wrecking Crew documentary. It lasts for 139 mins and then repeats itself. It's very similar to the "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" and "22 Feet from Stardom" documentaries. It's worth a watch if you like this sort of thing.

I'm sure the Jesus and Mary Chain borrowed this same Hal Blaine drumbeat on the Psychocandy album, didn't they?
